Quality Assurance Technician

Job Duties:

  • Perform work in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Able to function within the calibration program and ensuring all equipment requiring calibration is calibrated in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Interpret product structures, specifications, formulas, and confers with managements and/or technical staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Conducts tests as specified at stages in the production process (as identified) and tests products for qualities for conformance to standards.
  • Gathers and records test data, analyzing information as compared to previous production results and product specifications.
  • Evaluates data and produce documentation to verify or indicate deviations from established performance standards and product specifications.
  • Completes assigned projects in support of the QA department and the management staff.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Previous Quality Assurance or lab tech experience preferred
  • Experience with chromatography, FTIR spectroscopy, and/or thermal analysis preferred

Skills:

  • Computer proficiency and skills are required. Must have experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and general database administration.
  • Proficient in quality assurance, inspection, testing methods and practices.
  • Ability to prepare, organize and maintain test and office data, reports and systems.

Job Duties:

  • Perform work in accordance with safety guidelines.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required. Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required.
  • 3-5 years of proven manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.  Vacuum furnace experience is preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Lead plant level Safety, Health, Environmental, Regulatory and Product Safety (SHERPS) programs
  • Train employees in SHERPS processes and programs
  • Compile monthly reports as required.
  • Support all plant-level SHERPS investigations and corrective actions.
  • Aid in annual reporting to various agencies.

  • Lead site-level food safety efforts including site representative on customer, government, and 3rd party audits.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • BS degree in technical discipline (Chemistry, Environmental Health & Safety, Food Science, Science/Technical degree) or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years of employee safety, regulatory compliance and/or food safety experience preferred, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively
  • Experience with Global Food Safety programs (BRC, ISO 22000, etc.)
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Previous experience with US, Health Canada, and China Drug Master File (DMF) management a plus, with knowledge of eCTD formats

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
